The imposter word game, hosted by ChatGPT

Friends join on their phones with a 4-letter code. Everyone sees the secret word except the imposter. Give one-word clues out loud, vote on your phones, and catch the one who's bluffing.

How to play

  1. Start a room in ChatGPT

Ask ChatGPT: “Let's play Hushword”. It opens a room and gives you the code.

  2. Join on your phones

Everyone opens hushword.ambientapp.ai, types the code and picks an animal. No app, no account, no names.

  3. Clue, vote, reveal

Hold your phone to see the word. Give a one-word clue in turn, then vote. Catch the imposter, or the imposter steals the round.

Two ways to play

Classic

One random player is the imposter and only knows the category. ChatGPT hosts: it calls the clue order, reads bot clues and announces the result. It never sees the word.

Beat the AI

ChatGPT is the imposter. Every phone gets the word, ChatGPT doesn't. Give clues your friends get but ChatGPT can't crack: it has two guesses.

  • 3 to 8 players, with up to 3 bots to fill seats
  • English and Turkish word packs, written for ages 13 and up
  • Free, no ads, no sign-up

Questions

Does ChatGPT see the secret word?

No. The word goes from our server straight to the phones. ChatGPT learns it only when the round is over.

Do my friends need ChatGPT?

No. Only the host uses ChatGPT. Everyone else just opens a web page on their phone.

Can I play alone?

Yes, to try it: ask ChatGPT for a room with 3 bots, tap Play on this screen, and play against them.
